Dentist – Beverly, MA
Meet Dr. Lauren Gadeberg
Born in New York and raised in Maine, Dr. Gadeberg is more than happy to be back in the Northeast. She enjoys living in Boston and loves being close to friends and family. Most importantly, she appreciates the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Dr. Blake and to work with his amazing team.
Please take a few minutes to get to know Dr. Gadeberg. Her dental degree from Tufts and her four years as a service member of the Navy Dental Corps provides her with exceptional, clinical skills. Her friendly personality and genuine compassion make her the ideal dentist for your entire family – from children to grandparents.
Why She Became a Dentist
Inspired by her mom who was a dental assistant and hygienist, Dr. Gadeberg knew as a teenager she wanted to be involved in some sort of medical career. Originally, she thought about becoming a pediatrician. Time spent shadowing a pediatric dentist opened her eyes to the important role dentists play in the health and happiness of their patients.
She really enjoyed the on-going relationships that developed through seeing patients at least every six months, and it helped Dr. Gadeberg set a goal for herself. She does not want any of her patients to be fearful of the dentist, and she would like for all of them to look forward to their next visit. In the end, it was her desire to help others smile that led Dr. Gadeberg to dentistry.
Dr. Gadeberg’s Dental Education & Training
After earning her undergraduate degree (with a dual major in biology and policy studies) from Syracuse University, Dr. Gadeberg was accepted at The College of Dental Medicine at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Wanting to be closer to family, she transferred to Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where she graduated in 2014. Throughout her years in school, she experienced the joy of treating multiple members of the same family and made this a focus of her clinical training.
Without any direct connection to the military, Dr. Gadeberg was drawn to serve her country upon graduation from dental school. She was offered a scholarship through the United States Navy and accepted orders to Camp Lejeune, NC, where she worked with the United States Marines. It turned out to be an amazing learning experience – professionally and personally – as she experienced all phases of dentistry, learned to shoot an M9 and completed many expeditionary tasks and trips with the Marines and Sailors. It was at Camp Lejeune where Dr. Gadeberg also met her fiancé, Michael, who is now a former Marine.
During her four years of active duty in North Carolina, Dr. Gadeberg had the good fortune of working in a couple of other, private dental practices, where she was able to further expand her dental skills and work with patients of all ages. She loves how diverse and evolving the dental field is and is always looking to expand her skill set. Currently, she is in the middle of a 10 month MaxiCourse program with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), where she will receive hands on training in the placement and restoration of dental implants. After completing the course, Dr. Gadeberg will attain member status in the AAID in January 2019. Additionally, she is enrolled to receive BOTOX and dermal fillers training with the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE) for esthetic applications and TMD/orofacial pain. This training will allow Dr. Gaedberg to administer both Botox Cosmetic and Therapeutic treatments. She will also join the AAFE as a member as of January 2019.
Finally, Dr. Gadeberg is now a ClearCorrect provider, so she can help teens and adults to straighten their smiles with this innovative, alignment tray orthodontic system. She looks forward to making the lives of our patients easier by being able to handle many more procedures without costly and time-consuming referrals.
Life Away from the Dental Office
While serving in the Navy, Dr. Gadeberg took up running. Since then, she has completed over a dozen races, including the Marine Corps Marathon in 2016 and 2017. When not running around Boston, she loves to travel and photograph her adventures. Some of her favorite trips were hiking the Inca trail to Machu Picchu in Peru and scuba diving in Hawaii. She makes frequent visits back home to Maine to spend time with friends and family, and she loves finding new hiking adventures. Her favorite places to hike in New England are Tumbledown Mountain and Katahdin in Maine, as they offer some of the most scenic views at the summit.
If you have any recommendations for great places to run, hike or scuba dive, please bring them with you to your next appointment.
